Here's the story of how I got started making Handcrafted Wooden Pens, and several other Unique Wooden Gifts

Back to my story, I have enjoyed woodworking for many years, although I was not always the best at it. A few years ago I was injured in an accident at work and heavy lifting was out of the question. I hated having to give up my hobby completely so I searched for an answer.

A large problem with woodworking is dust collection. One day I was looking for some dust collection equipment hoping that I could soon get back into my workshop. This is when I stumbled onto an article about wood turning on a lathe and making small turnings such as Pens & Pencils, Wooden Keychains, Wooden Darts, etc.

I think it must have been fate because this was the perfect hobby for me. I could still be involved in woodworking and make beautiful items from exotic hardwoods without killing my back !

One thing led to another and soon I was making wooden pens and pencils and other gifts for everyone I knew. I fell in love with this hobby and try to tell everyone that will listen just how much fun and rewarding it can be.

But why would anyone want to buy a wooden pen when businesses are giving plastic pens away and every store sells them for less than a dollar?

Because everyone has cheap pens but now you can own a true work of art that will be cherished for years either by yourself or someone else if they are given as a gift.

The thing I like the most is that I can make them all day long and still every one is a little different, the grain on each tree changes a little as it goes. I can make two pens from the same exotic wood and they will all still look different!
